Analysis
EXCLUSIVE: Zesty unveiled a large spike in WebXR traffic during December.
What are the most popular WebXR games? They are Getaway Car, where you escape with cash; f60, an escape room; and Archery Training, which does what it says on the tin.
What are the numbers? According to the company, typical weekly visits to the Zesty ads would range between 65k to 75k per week. During the holidays the company saw that jump to about 140k - 170k per week, with more than 300k unique users for the month of December.
Caveats: Zesty is not used by all WebXR apps, so it's a partial view into titles that are monetising themselves using Zesty's services. Still, it provides a peek into the health of the WebXR ecosystem.
What can we learn from this? One is how "simpler" WebXR titles tend to get more consistent engagement; smaller-scale but solid gameplay experiences may be beneficial for some companies. Another is that WebXR might be a good holiday advertising area for companies to consider, as there is a significant spike in viewers during the shopping period. One to keep an eye on for Christmas 2024 (shudder).
