Snap unveiled the Snap Specs.
What are they? These are Snap’s first consumer AR glasses, priced at $2,195 / £1,995. These are not “camera-only” spectacles, and feature a full AR display. It has four hours of battery life.
What’s the significance? It’s not lost on me that these are out before Meta’s Connect event next week.

Meta is reportedly preparing camera-free smart glasses, codenamed Luna, with six microphones and a Meta AI button, to be unveiled at Connect on 23 and 24 Sept, according to The Information.
Additionally, the same report says Meta plans a live keynote demo of hologram-like video calls using Codec Avatars on its slim Project Phoenix mixed reality headset.
Polyarc, the Seattle studio behind Moss, has closed after more than a decade following the cancellation of a major project earlier this year, with 29 staff listed in its reverse recruiting spreadsheet.
Singular Perception has pushed the Quest early access launch of co-op space roguelike Sol Protocol from 17 Sept to 19 Sept, with the Steam version following in October.
