Analysis
The Premier League is investing in VR games development.
What’s happening? It is a four-year agreement with Rezzil, which includes an equity stake in the Manchester-based VR software developer. The game itself will launch later this year.
What is the Premier League saying? Will Brass, the Premier League’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are excited about the ongoing development of VR technology within football. Rezzil are highly respected in the field and have developed an excellent reputation with training products that are being used by many Premier League clubs alongside leading sports teams and leagues around the world.
I like Rezzil, and happy to see them go forward more in their success. My money is that it’s a training programme so that people can learn how to play virtually.
