Civilization VII is coming to VR.

  • Which headsets? Meta Quest headsets (Quest 3 and 3S) this spring, though pricing and an exact release date is yet to be confirmed.

  • What will it look like? The game features a board game-like projection into physical space using passthrough cameras or a virtual museum setting with a scenic backdrop. A video of it in action is here.

  • Create Worlds has launched Wonderland Cloud, a multiplayer framework optimizing high-quality spatial audio for web-based VR.

  • Meta’s investment in virtual and augmented reality is set to exceed $100 billion in 2025, with Reality Labs reaching a record $19.9 billion in spending last year and selling 1mn Ray-Ban smart glasses in 2024.

  • Miketeevee has launched SkyHaven, a new chapter for the immersive VR game Shores of Loci, adding fresh challenges and stunning environments to its puzzle-driven experience.
