Top story
XR AI Spotlight ran a report on MR apps on the app store, with some interesting insights. Key facts (among many others):
Only 10% of the 3,891 apps on the Meta Store have implemented MR;
Among MR apps, there is a nearly 50/50 split between gaming and non-gaming categories;
The top 10 most rated games account for 64% of total ratings (98K of 152K). Meanwhile, the top 10 most rated non-gaming apps account for 74% of total ratings (38K of 51K), led by fitness and wellness apps such as TRIPP and FitXR. Few non-gaming apps surpass 100 reviews;
The report indicates that there is a dominance of engagement with gaming apps. This makes sense as, by their nature, gaming apps would attain more user engagement and reviews. But what about beyond the numbers? The author, Gabriele Romagnoli, gave some personal insights as well. The full article has qualitative insights on MR beyond the stats.
