Italy is nice, but I sunburn faster than a pale white whale on the beach. Also, it is my birthday soon!

Why the Meta Quest 3S will boost VR adoption:

  1. Price. The VR headset market is incredibly price-elastic, with cheaper (but less capable) headsets garnering the most attention. The same year the Oculus Go and Quest were in the market, the Go outsold the Quest as it was much cheaper.

  2. China. Tencent and Meta made a deal to sell VR headsets in the country, starting in late 2024. That will most likely be the Meta Quest 3S, which will tap into one of the biggest markets in the world.

  3. Software. The Quest store now has a wide array of great apps, as well as a revitalised App Lab side. This will boost sales further as the headset flourishes.

  4. Caveats. Pico is set to unveil a new headset on 20 August which could compare well against Meta’s proposition.
