Top metaverse and spatial computing newsletters that I trust for analysis

Here are some of the best metaverse and spatial computing newsletters that I trust, based on my own work in the space.

The metaverse has evolved dramatically for some time, and a lot of noise has evolved alongside it as well. With the sheer volume of opinions and insights that are regurgitated across the web, it is important to focus on the trusted writers and analysts that cut through the fat. Metaverse newsletters provide a concise and direct way to receive the analysis on a regular basis. For example, trust in research is vital, and a trustworthy metaverse or spatial computing newsletter is important.

So what are the best newsletters? Which ones explore the future of the internet in the best way possible, while also helping your business reach new heights? As someone who has been writing about the industry for quite some time, here is a selection of newsletters that I myself follow as part of my reporting. All of them are suitable for different reasons, so it is scoping out what might work for you.

The Immersive Wire

With a list of top newsletters to consider, it's best to note that I run my own one as well. I have my own spin on the industry, providing a briefing every Monday. I have a particular specialism in marketing as well; how can an immersive company portray itself so that it can drive more sales for its industry? And how does the metaverse or spatial computing tie into it?

Overall the newsletter tries to be as concise as possible, giving the right information as directly as possible in order to help professionals in the sector level up their knowledge. If that sounds like it's of interest, then the metaverse newsletter might be for you.

Inside Metaverse

Inside runs a network of newsletters that all explore different parts of technology and interlink together when it comes to content. But one I want to focus on is Inside Metaverse, which takes a look at immersive technologies as a whole. After covering virtual and augmented reality, the newsletter now covers more items when it comes to the metaverse.

Yet compared to other metaverse newsletters, it also focuses more on NFTs, covering how companies are either acquiring land on sites like Decentraland, or how brands are selling virtual goods across the web. Not all newsletters have such a focus on cryptocurrenices or NFTs; but if it sounds good for you, then it is worth taking a look.

The Drum - Inside the Metaverse

The Drum is one of the best marketing publications out there, focusing on the marketing trends and activities that resonate with the public. While it focuses across Europe, APAC, and the US, it covers everything that a Chief Marketing Officer would consider when it comes to their sector. As the metaverse became such a hot trend in their area, The Drum delivered their own newsletter to see how it impacts their industry.

With a specific focus on marketing, it covers how spatial technologies are being used by brands as part of their integrated strategies, directing readers to relevant articles that they have written on the topic each week. If you are as into marketing as I am, then it is one of the best metaverse newsletters to sign up for.

The Ghost Howls

The Ghost Howls is a blog more specialised in VR, which works well for people who are following headsets like the Apple Vision Pro. The website is run by Tony Vitillo, a veteran in the industry who got his hands dirty with immersive technologies.

Tony has cultivated a great fanbase though his great editorials and reviews on the industry, taking a sharp look at more spatial technologies. That makes him more trusted than others, and I follow his newsletter closely each week.

It also helps that Tony is a nice guy, too. Credit: Antony Vitillo.

Consider the best metaverse newsletter

So there you have it! What do you think of the list as a whole? If you have any questions, do let me know and happy to tweak with new additions over time. But in any case, I hope you find the list helpful with your own research. Ultimately, the best newsletter will be the one that works for you. Will it be the one that focuses on more spatial technologies like VR or AR? Or will it be a more metaverse-orientated version? That is for you to judge.
