The Immersive Wire is returning, so send me your news!

The Immersive Wire returns on 13 January, with a slightly new direction.

Hello again! In the spirit of the Immersive Wire’s brevity:

  • Return: The Immersive Wire returns on 13 January, with a renewed purpose of being the best newsletter for our industry.

  • How it can help you: I want to ensure it helps your company. If you have any new news coming up that readers can see, please email tom (at) immersivewire (dot) com.

  • Industry Outlook: We should also gather the overall mood of our industry for 2025, for everyone’s benefit. If you have three minutes to answer five questions, consider filling this anonymous survey. Every response matters! Results will be published in the newsletter on 20 January.

  • London event: The next meetup is happening on 29 January in City, University of London. Come along if you want to network.

  • Creative direction: While the Immersive Wire is satisfying, I will tweak it slightly so it creatively nourishes all parts of my passion.

I’ll go into further details on each part below, if you want an expanded explanation. Otherwise, see you all very soon!

The Return of the Immersive Wire

After a prolonged break, the Immersive Wire is back. I feel refreshed, if a little full from all the food and festivities of the holiday period. And with it comes a renewed sense of dedication for the Immersive Wire, to provide the best place for all the industry news.

That also means I want to ensure I am capturing all the best news in the sector - and that’s where I need your help. If you have anything coming up, please email tom (at) immersivewire( dot) com. I want the Immersive Wire to be the best hub for news everywhere, for everyone.

However, that purpose comes with a slightly new direction. Over the last few months I have been feeling a new level of creative burnout - the kind the rubs you down like sandpaper. While the Immersive Wire is fun, reporting on the sector can also feel incredibly dry. There are only so many funding rounds I collect before I need my own funds for a therapist.

So the Immersive Wire will also embrace some of my other creative projects as well. What form will they take? I still write a few Tangents on my own site, and you may see other content forms through 2025. But the core idea is that it won’t be just about immersive technologies. My interests and passions go well beyond tech, and I want to flex those muscles alongside my general reporting.

What’s up with the Industry Outlook?

As part of that purpose, it’ll be good to know what’s coming up in 2025 and everyone’s mood. What’s everyone thinking? Are we entering another freeze, or is there light at the end of the tunnel? So I have made an anonymous survey to see what everyone is thinking; you may find it here. This will only take a few minutes (I hate long surveys too), and the results will be published on 20 January.

For now, I will see you all in 2025!
