Pioneers of Immersive Reality now open for entry - the Virtual Perceptions Newsletter

Virtual Perceptions Newsletter

Alright, there are less articles on Ready Player One coming out. Finally. Well, in all places except LinkedIn, which is still clogged with them (Then again, the platform has always been a bit... slow on the uptake.)Anyway, with this Facebook kerfuffle happening, I am writing a pretty detailed article about data privacy and Oculus. I was hoping to release it this week, but I wanted to make sure I was happy with it - so expect it landing next week. In the meantime, make sure to sign up to be a Pioneer of Immersive Reality, an award

recognising

individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry over the last 12 months. This can be in any area, whether it be around engineering, production, development or design in the immersive industry. Like last time, I would like to select multiple winners. I encourage everyone to sign up - it is free!

Other articles I have written can be found below and, as always, I am always up for a chat on email. I will also be at the Rezzed party tomorrow evening, so if you are going too, let me know!

I am looking for submissions for this year’s Pioneers of Immersive Reality in 2018. This is to highlight key individuals who have made an impact over the last year (1 April 2017 to 1 April 2018), whether it be around engineering, production, development or design in the immersive space.

Yay, growth! Research firm CCS Insight forecasts 22 million VR and AR headsets and glasses will be sold in 2018, with five times the growth to 121 million units by 2022.

More than 70 years after the disaster of Hiroshima, The Day the World Changed will set the stage for testimonies around the seminal disaster of Japan. Co-created by Gabo Arora and Saschka Unseld, and produced by Jennifer Tiexiera, the experience pairs

with rare survivor testimonies from the event.
