Philharmonia Orchestra – Immersive Marketing of the Year Winner

The Philharmonia are continual innovators in the world of classical music, finding new and exciting ways to find new audiences who may not have enjoyed classical in the past.
The VR Soundstage took place at the Southbank Centre in early October, showing two 360 films, Beethoven’s Fifth and Mahler 3. These pieces were shown using Lenovo Daydream headsets and Mixed Immersion’s 3D audio array to ensure the most realistic sound experiences. The whole experience was shown within an Igloo projection cylinder providing accessibility to those who may not be able to wear a VR headset.
The activation was fully booked during every session over the 4 days at Southbank Centre and had a vast number of participants who would not be usual fans of Beethoven or Mahler.
